Q: Can I use my existing lead-acid battery charger (Wet, AGM or Gel) to charge lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries?

A:Not possible. If the voltages are the same, the lithium-ion battery charger can charge lead-acid batteries, but the lead-acid battery charger cannot charge lithium batteries. Because the safety requirements of lithium-ion battery packs are higher. These two types of chargers cannot be mixed, because the charging modes of lithium battery chargers and lead-acid battery chargers are different. Lithium-ion batteries are charged with constant current and voltage, and lead-acid is charged in three stages.

Generally speaking, lithium-ion battery packs are equipped with special chargers when they leave the factory. In order to protect the lithium-ion battery, a dedicated charger is required. What type of battery needs to be matched with what charger. If the current is too high, it will cause the active material of the plate to fall off, causing the battery to be insufficiently charged; too low will cause the battery to fail to receive effective charging, which will cause the battery to be insufficiently charged; if the voltage is too high and overcharge, the current will exceed itself The endurance of the battery causes the battery to bulge.
 

Q: How deep can a lithium iron phosphate battery be discharged?

A: LiFePO4 batteries can be discharged up to 100% without risk of damage. Make sure you charge your battery immediately after discharge. We recommend discharging be limited to 80-90% depth of discharge (DOD) to avoid the BMS disconnecting the battery.
